The WMCAT Way
What’s it like to be a student at WMCAT? Whether you are a creative teen wanting to explore everything from video to fashion, or an adult looking to build income security through a new career, there is a common approach — a “WMCAT way.”
What is the “WMCAT way?” Here is what WMCAT has grown to do well, and what makes the difference between a place where people show up to receive a service, and a place where people show up to build community.
- We curate a space that is inspiring, safe, and designed for exploring and learning.
- We push for creativity, ensuring students have state-of-the-art equipment and learning materials, and access to professionals and mentors.
- We honor and elevate student voice, authenticity, and lived experiences.
- We learn together in community.
This June we want to bring that same intentionality around community, voice, and space to you. Please consider joining us for a new, two-day conference, WMCAT 20/20: Exploring Conflicting Visions for the Future.
Over June 4-5 at WMCAT and our surrounding block on Grand Rapids’ Westside, you will revel in creative pursuits, learn from nationally known thought disrupters, connect with new ideas and voices, and sharpen your vision of our community and your place within it.
Bring your full self and an open mind, and we’ll provide the space and time for you to connect, learn, re-frame, and create.
