Hwa-Jeen Na is a multi-disciplinary, visual artist, photographer, and film director based in Michigan. His projects explore definitions of identity and community through personal anecdotes and present-day cultural influences. He is the recipient of the ArtPrize 2021 Installation Juried Award for his collaborative project, “Project Unity: 10 Miles of Track in One Day” with Chicago based artist, Yuge Zhou. His work has been shown in a number of Michigan galleries, namely the Grand Rapids Art Museum (GRAM) in their 2022 Seen and Not Seen Photography exhibition and in their 2018 ArtPrize Collection. His work has been featured in several Michigan print and digital media outlets namely ArtPrize, The Detroit Free Press, Grand Rapids Magazine, MLive, and WOODTV8.
